Not sure where to begin with your community process? It’s time to bring the power to the people and involve them in the process. The earlier the better…with these 15 questions, your community members will know you care, and fall in love with the civic process over and over again.

Connectivity

1. What is your preferred communication style and where do you get your information?

2. How have you been included / excluded from past processes?

3. How connected do you feel to what’s happening in your community?

Vision

4. Which resources or budget items are the most valuable or important to you?

5. What would you want outsiders to know about your community?

6. If you had one million dollars to spend on your community, how would you spend it?

Planning

7. If you were in charge, what would you change?

8. If you were in charge, what challenges or pitfalls would you consider?

9. What would you want other residents or leadership to know about your needs?

Collaboration

10. What is your preferred collaboration and communication style?

11. How can we accommodate your schedule and the schedule of your network?

12. What are some types of events you would participate in, or have enjoyed in the past?

Empowerment

13. How would you like to be involved in the future?

14. What resources do you need to achieve these visions?

15. Who else should be involved in this conversation / process / project?
